About Kirti Nargis Soekaloe
My name is Kirti Soekaloe—a Surinamese–Indian interdisciplinary maker, performer, and facilitator born in Rotterdam and based in Barcelona, Spain. My practice moves fluidly between the tactile and the embodied: from sculpting custom costumes and wearable art to performing at festivals like Mysteryland and Thunderdome, to guiding people through workshops, somatic practices, and creative rituals.
I’m drawn to the intelligence of the body, the aesthetics of care, and the playfulness of queer community-making. My work often sits at the intersection of movement, culture, and craft—celebrating the ways we express, adorn, and transform ourselves.
Whether I’m creating a piece to move in, leading a workshop that invites people to reconnect with their bodies, or collaborating on projects that center social safety and collective expression, my goal is always the same: to make space for more honesty, more sensation, and more joy.
